Orang National Park Assam - (Mini Kaziranga)

Orang National Park is one of the most beautiful national parks in the state of Assam. In 1999 it was declared as a National Park which covers an area of 78.81 sq. km. 

The other name of this National Park is Mini Kaziranga and it is located on the northern bank of the Brahmaputra River. 


 In 1985 it was established as a sanctuary but later on converted into a National Park. This National Park is the home of different varieties of wild animals and other species.

This national park is an ideal place for Jeep Safari, So if you are traveling to this national park then you should not miss the opportunity to take a jeep ride.

By Air:  The nearest airport is almost 60 kilometers away from the national park and that is Salonibari, Tezpur. 

From Airpot, you can go via taxi or bus as the connectivity between Salonibari airport and orang national park is very good by road.

By Rail: Saloni and Rangapara railway stations are close to this National Park. If you visit via Train then you will need to hire a taxi/cab or auto rickshaws. 

By Road: The Road condition is very good you can go there from all the major cities of the states.

This national park has a rich flora and fauna and an ideal habitat for various species of animals like One-horned Rhinoceros, Tiger, Elephants, Hog Deer, Wild Pig, Civet Cat, Porcupine, and Dolphin. 

Apart from wild animals, this national park has also been recorded a number of 222 bird species. Some of the birds are Spot Billed Pelican, White Pelican, Greater Adjutant Stork, Lesser Adjutant Stork, Brahminy Duck, Pintail Duck. Best Time to Visit: October to March.
