Sanjay Dutt Career

Sanjay Dutt made his acting debut in Reshma and Shera in 1979 when he was barely 12 years old. With his father, Sunil Dutt's 1981 film Rocky, Sanjay launched his acting career.

The parents eagerly anticipated the movie's release, but Sanjay's mother Nargis passed away from cancer before the premiere. Even though the movie was a huge hit, Sanjay was devastated by the loss of his mother.

The news surprised him. His mother's passing is said to have contributed to his drug addiction. Sanjay, on the other hand, had drawn attention to his immature actions. Due to his drug addiction, Sunil Dutt, his father, sent him to a rehab center in the United States.

Controversies

His reputation was further tarnished by his connections to the underworld. Sanjay was imprisoned for getting weapons like the AK-47 illegally under the TADA (Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act). He was later imprisoned for his involvement in the bombing. As a result, continuous legal processes were started.

Sanjay was enduring an extremely difficult time. 1993 saw a reopening of the Bombay blasts trial, leading to Sanjay's re-arrest. At the moment, he finished the current films but was unable to take on any new ones. Sanjay served 42 months in prison under the Weapons Act before being freed in February 2016.
