Twinkle Khanna, also known as Tina Jatin Khanna, was an Indian novelist, columnist, interior designer, and former film actress who was born on December 29, 1974.

She published "Mrs. Funnybones," her debut non-fiction book, in 2015. It was a hit, becoming Khanna India's best-selling female author that year.

Twinkle Khanna Personal life

Twinkle Khanna, the first of the two daughters of seasoned Hindi cinema stars Dimple Kapadia and Rajesh Khanna, who she shares a birthday with, was born on December 29 in Bombay. Her father Rajesh Khanna was born in Punjabi Khatri in Amritsar, Punjab, and came from a family of railway contractors. Her maternal grandpa was a Gujarati merchant named Chunnibhai Kapadia. She is the niece of Simple Kapadia, an actress and costume designer whom she "adored," on her mother's side. Both her cousin Karan Kapadia and sister Rinke Khanna have appeared in movies.

Khanna went to the Narsee Monjee College of Business and Economics and the New Era High School in Panchgani. She planned to become a chartered accountant after graduating from high school and took the entrance test, but her parents insisted that she work in the film business instead. Khanna had eye surgery before she started her cinematic career.

At the University of London, she is now working towards a Master of Arts degree from Goldsmiths.
